Meet Your Provider
I'm Alexandra McReynolds, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of JuniperCare.
For the past five years, I've had the privilege of working as a nurse practitioner, helping individuals navigate mental health challenges with compassion and thoughtful clinical care.
Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I spent decades caring for people as a Registered Nurse. Over 37 years in nursing, I have had the privilege of accompanying individuals and families through many stages and phases of life. Those experiences have shaped the way I practice today—with respect for each person’s story, compassion for life’s complexities, and an appreciation for the whole person.
My decision to pursue psychiatric care is deeply personal. Having experienced the benefits of both medication and psychotherapy in my own life, I understand the meaningful role each can play in healing and well-being.
I believe there is great purpose in honoring and accompanying people through their individual stories and journeys.
My hope is that every person I work with feels genuinely listened to, understood, and witnessed.
A Little About Me
Outside of my professional life, I've been married for 35 years and am the mother of three grown children.
My own experiences with marriage, parenting, and the changing seasons of family life have deepened my appreciation for the complexities of relationships and the many transitions we encounter throughout adulthood.
I recognize that life rarely unfolds exactly as we expect. These experiences inform the compassion and respect I bring to the people I work with.
Areas of Care
Support for persistent worry, overwhelm, panic, and the emotional and physical effects of anxiety.
Thoughtful care for low mood, loss of motivation, emotional exhaustion, and difficulty finding enjoyment or meaning.
Individualized care for difficulties with attention, organization, executive functioning, and emotional regulation.
Evaluation and treatment of sleep difficulties, including insomnia and disrupted sleep patterns.
Compassionate support for navigating loss, disappointment, life transitions, and the complex emotions of grief.
Trauma can shape how we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to explore the lasting effects of difficult experiences, understand patterns of protection and survival, and support healing at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

What It’s Like to Work With Me
Seeking mental health care can feel like a vulnerable step. My hope is that you experience JuniperCare as a place where your concerns are taken seriously, your story matters, and you feel genuinely heard.
We’ll work collaboratively to understand what you’re experiencing and consider treatment options that fit your needs and goals. Whether our work involves medication, psychotherapy, or both, I believe meaningful care begins with understanding the whole person—not simply a set of symptoms.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach integrates psychiatric medication management with psychotherapy, recognizing the importance of both biological and emotional health.
Understanding the different parts of ourselves with curiosity and compassion.
Exploring connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Developing skills for emotional regulation, mindfulness, and navigating relationships.
Recognizing, understanding, and processing emotional experiences.
